Auction Rules and Buyer Agreement

Last updated: 25 May 2026

These Auction Rules form part of the AuctionBargain Terms and Conditions. By registering for an AuctionBargain account, you agree to be bound by these rules. Please read them carefully before placing any bid.

Bids Are Legally Binding

Every bid you place on AuctionBargain is a legally binding offer to purchase the item at the bid amount. This is not a game or a casual expression of interest — it is a real commitment to buy. By registering for an account, you expressly agree that bids are legal contracts. Winning bids are binding once the auction closes and you are confirmed as the winner. You must complete payment within the timeframe stated on the auction or checkout page.

Reserve Prices

Some auctions have a reserve price — the minimum amount the seller is willing to accept. If the highest bid at auction close does not meet the reserve price, the seller is not obligated to sell, and the auction may close without a winner. The reserve price status is shown on the listing where applicable. Where a Buy Now price is set at or above the reserve price, the item may be purchased immediately.

Buy Now Option

Some listings include a Buy Now price, which allows you to purchase the item immediately at a fixed price without waiting for the auction to end. Where Buy Now is available and the item has not yet received a qualifying bid, you may complete the purchase instantly. Buy Now purchases are final, just like auction wins.

Before You Bid

You must carefully review the entire listing before placing a bid. This includes: the item description, condition notes, photos, whether the item is new, used, refurbished, open-box, or sold as-is, the fulfilment method (shipping, collection, pickup, or courier), any stated delivery timeframes, taxes, fees, buyer premiums, and delivery charges, and any seller support, warranty, or return options mentioned in the listing. Some items may be second-hand, clearance, liquidation, open-box, returned, damaged, refurbished, incomplete, or sold as-is — the listing will state the condition where this information is available.

Auction Finality

Completed auction purchases are final. AuctionBargain does not provide change-of-mind refunds for auction purchases. By registering, you agreed that bids are legally binding contracts and that auction purchases are final. This means you cannot cancel an auction purchase simply because you changed your mind, found a better price elsewhere, or decided you no longer want the item. Narrow exceptions may apply only where: a duplicate payment occurred, proven fraud or unauthorised payment is confirmed, the seller cannot fulfil the order, the auction or listing was materially incorrect due to platform or seller error, the item is materially different from the listing, or applicable law, card-network rules, PayPal Buyer Protection, payment-provider rules, or another binding requirement requires a refund or reversal.

AuctionBargain Rights

AuctionBargain may cancel bids, suspend accounts, or remove listings where fraud, error, prohibited goods, or policy breaches are suspected. AuctionBargain may extend, pause, or cancel auctions in cases of technical failure, suspected fraud, or force majeure. Listing-specific conditions stated on an individual auction page override these general rules where clearly stated and where not inconsistent with the Terms and Conditions.
